Welcome to St. Joseph School!

I recently read an article about the important of Catholic education.  One paragraph, particularly, caught my attention.  "Catholic schools are a gift to the whole community and are recognized as centers of learning that foster personal development and growth, enriched with a sense of self-fulfillment and worth, and guided by basic and essential moral values.  It is precisely because of our history, and what we achieve today in Catholic schools, that we can look to the future with hope and confidence." Momentum, April/May 2009

I, too, believe in the richness of what we offer children and families.  Our school theme this year is "got faith!"  We are proud to have a school where we can actively show and practice our faith. Loving each other and helping our children grow up in a strong, vibrant faith community is a real blessing.  We are proud to have faith and show it!

I grew up at this school, attending St. Joseph from the time my family returned to Olney through my 8th grade year.  It is a place where friends become family, and children thrive in love and security. Because of our size and atmosphere, we are able to offer unique opportunities.  The majority of our children will take Spanish this year.  We offer choir experience starting in third grade and instruments in fourth.  Children at St. Joseph School typically begin playing sports in fourth grade.  And...we pray, which is a real blessing.  The children pray to begin and end each day, before lunch, in thanks and in hope.  We celebrate mass weekly and share the gospel message with each other.

I believe in the work of the Holy Spirit, and I know that God's grace placed me in this school.  It is a blessing to work with the students, staff, families, and parishioners in the St. Joseph Olney and Stringtown communities.

In peace and love,
